1 Elflord: Summer's Magic #2 cover A nice full page of Dao and Hawk, hoping Bran can get the pages out of the cavern and back to Greenhaven. Hawk says he has to be able to do something right. Odd shaped rocks appear. Falcon and Purebreeze also wonder about Bran probably getting lost and having the kids freeze their butts off. Hawk finds they all share the same high esteem for Bran. Hawk calls the Rock Troll a useless dung heap and it chases them. Purebreeze bollicks the plan, drawing it away from the boys so that it falls down a deep canyon. She calls the boys out. Dao smiles, "Heh, that cousin of yours, Falc..." Falcon says, "She does have her moments." Windy tells Leaf to go back to the Cardinal and keep an eye on him. Jethel calls Leaf a dummy for not paying attention and tells Windy he really does have patience. Windy tells him that Leaf is okay, he was just abused by Ichi, that's all. Windy takes Jethel to the Gentlemen's Club, knocking on a ringer that is held in a boy's mouth on the door handle. Carstairs answers, "Ahh, little windchime." He was expecting them and ran a hot bath for them. Jethel wonders what he is and Windy tells him a human. Leaf goes back to the cardinal's and tells the page boy, who has curly hair and a small hat on he was at the Dragonfly. This page boy (who asks where Leaf has been and that it is his business since the Cardinal is mad) also has the key to the door around his neck. An arrow thups into the page boy's lower chest and another hits the page boy's midsection! Leaf hides, asking what the bow and arrow shooter, a Shade, wants. "Your life, by the Shades," he shooter says. Another arrow hits the page boy but higher up in the chest, "Oh." One of his sandals is falling off and Leaf notices he has the key. He says, "Help me." The shooter says, "I'm gonna nail him to the door." The other says, "Get set." A third says, "He's gonna try for it!" All are wearing the dark shade tights. The third has a vertical belt of points all along his front, kind of like a giant zipper. The first has round studs down his front and two cups over his nipples. The second has the nipples and a big round one over his stomach, almost looking like a tiny mirror. Leaf rushes out for the key but an arrow thups into his back and shoots him into the page, face to face. The arrow went out his upper stomach into the page's chest. The shade yells, "Got him!" He jumps up. The other asks, "Was there ever any doubt?" Leaf looks at the page's lips, almost lip to lip with him. The page says, "I don't want to die." The Shades arrive. The one with the mirror on his belly says, "They make a cute couple." The Shade takes the key from around the page boy's neck. After the Shades go in, Leaf puts his hand around the dying boy and pushes. He pushes himself off the boy, tearing the arrow of the boy's chest, the boy's eyes closing. Leaf closes his own eyes. Jethel is in a short cut jacket top with hanging fringe. Windy is in a jacket top and a skirt like tu–tu or loin cloth, both boys bellies bare. The gentlemen have a picture of a fox or wolf on their wall. The Wizard kept Windy shaded so Cloudshadow and Ravenclaw couldn't sense Windy which is why he couldn't sense them. Cardinal makes plans to ruleGreenhaven no matter what that boorish Ravenclaw says. An arrow comes out and thups into the back of the seconds–ago–smiling curly haired page boy with the Cardinal. The page boy slumps forward with a whump. Ravenclaw cracks his knuckles and whaps the trio of Shades down. Leaf is with Lady Cloudshadow. She found Leaf at the door and can save him, "You won't be so lucky," she tells the three Shades. Leaf's tights have a hole mark in the upper stomach but the actual wound is healed. The other acolyte was dead. Cloudshadow puts the bore worms into the three Shades and they go into their mouths. Ravenclaw tells the Cardinal he doesn't want to see this.

Backup story: "The Hawkling" part 3.

Backup story first page At the inn, Hawk is in a fringe vest and loin cloth. He hears a Laaaaa! and says, "What the hell is that?!?" It is a singing white haired elf who wears a tight one piece, no sleeves or leggings, lots of jewelry on his legs, feet, and across his chest, stomach, attached to his shoulders, with a jewel on his forehead, a necklace, ear rings, freckles, and a flower tattoo around his eye. This is Windblade the troubadour. Hawk's request of him, "Never do that again!!" Windblade tells him though he insults him, he senses danger about him. "Tell me something I don't know," Hawk snaps. "Okay," he touches his own temples, "You and I will be together..." Hawk says, "In your dreams twinkle tits." The monk tells Spudling that Hawk owns the scroll——he owns it and everything in this kingdom——there is nothing to have to forgive. He and Spudling are on their way to the Inn. Hawk is the rightful heir to the throne. The monk rides a donkey. Hawk swishes the scroll into the face of the elf man who wants it from him. He doesn't care if he destroys the scroll as long he destroys this evil man. Windy tells him the case is empty, he felt it by his magic. Hawk hits the scroll between Windy's legs, "Feel this!!" For the first and last time in his singing career Windblade hits a perfect high C. Two Putties in love with the music and each other listen. An elf man with ear rings, drinking from a glass jar is wowed as it cracks from the music. A boy with a painted face listens as one of his friends has his hair stand up. Hawk puts the scroll into the elf—man's chest as he attacks to kill Hawk. Hawk hid the scroll in his room and met the monster man with an empty case to save Spudling——Spudling adds. The monk hits Spudling's head and he gasps, "Ow!" Windy tells Hawk, "Snif——you hurt me!" Hawk yells, "You could have gotten me killed! Idiot!" The Monk sees the little Sidhe. Spudling laughs it up with Hawk and they hug, "She?!? Hehehe!!" The monk spells it out, "S—i—d—h—e, a worker of magic, especially when around an elfheimbane." Hawk says, "Whatever. Let's go home, Spuddy." Hawk and Spud leave the monk to look at Windy.
